Andreá, the technical genius, who has always had a talent for building things, started his education in the coffee industry in 2009 at the age of 21 when he completed an apprenticeship at the “La Scala” factory in Venice, Italy. There he learnt to build, repair and refurbish many brands of commercial espresso machines. Since returning to Johannesburg, South Africa in 2010, he has worked as a technician, accumulating experience, serving the industry with his sweet sincerity that all our clients appreciate and assuring a high standard of service.

Since 2018,  Andreá and I (Fulvia) have partnered under the company “Utopia Enterprises (Pty) Ltd”, joining forces, where he is the technical expert and I bring my trading and business experience to the table.  Our integrity is the foundation for our business, our clients are not just a sale to us, we intend on growing their business as well as our own. We want them to achieve optimal results from their machinery and coffee, passing on the pure pleasure of the culture of coffee drinking, which is part of our culture in our home, and we are passionate about sharing it.

With the rapidly growing coffee culture and the endless demand for affordable commercial coffee equipment, we started buying second hand espresso machines in the local market to repair and sell, but we mostly found very poorly maintained machines. We then started importing coffee machines and coffee grinders in bulk from Italy that are in far better condition, as they are perfectly maintained. While our competitors flip coffee machines in the condition they buy them in, we have been cleaning, servicing, repairing each and refurbishing every machine to the maximum, which enables us to offer peace-of-mind and better quality at a competitive price point. We aim to sell no more than half the price of new.
